Community Event: A Night with Sonya Renee Taylor
In a recent Food Psych Podcast, Sonya Renee says:
“If the body positivity movement isn’t changing the way in which all bodies get to live unencumbered and free, than it is only replicating a system that already exists…it is not radical. We need to keep pressing the outer boundaries of body positivity. Is it okay to be positive at XXX pounds, quadroplegic, undocumented person, trans, etc. We need to keep asking how far does my body positivity stretch because that is our personal bias, that’s where we get to see where our own prejudice lives, and we get to unpack that for ourselves.”
We hope you will join us for what is sure to be a powerful evening. Her new book – The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love – will be available for sale and she will be signing books after her talk.
We’ll follow up with more details once we have the event page up on our site and registration is open.
Tickets will be $20. Books sold separately.
