Be.Whole Psychotherapy is an online only private practice specializing in treating individuals with body image distress and disordered eating. I believe recovery is possible; I have seen firsthand individuals extinguish their eating disorder behaviors, as well as grow, learn, and accept the body they are living in. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 years experience working in the field of mental health. I have worked in all levels of care (inpatient, intensive out-patient, and residential). I come from a behaviorist background. I was clinically trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy at Portland DBT Institute where I was a therapist on their Pathways to Mindful Eating Team. I also have experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Treatments. My philosophical approach to treatment aligns with Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating principles. Additionally, I believe that art can play a significant role in the path to recovery, and I utilize experiential/expressive methods in my treatment approach. In addition to treating eating disorders, I have specializations and an interest in treating those with anxiety and depression, as well as issues unique to those identifying as LGBTQ.
The path to recovery is different for every person. My goal as a clinician is to help you find peace and to live a life worth living. Regardless of your behaviors (e.g., restriction, bingeing, purging, compulsive exercise, intrusive negative self-talk, etc.), you will find that I am compassionate, non-judgmental, and respectful. I will work to equip you with tools to decrease unwanted behaviors & manage your emotions. Additionally, I will help you gain awareness and insight into your eating disorder and, ultimately, help you to heal the pain underlying your relationship with your body. Whether you are just starting the journey toward recovery or have been down this road for many years, I am eager to walk this journey with you. You can live a life worth living and BE WHOLE.
