Janet Kindschuh, DPT
Outpatient Physical Therapy
Providence Tanasbourne Rehab Therapy
After illness, injury, or disability, people in our community turn to Providence Rehabilitation Services for help in regaining strength, function, independence, and wellness. Last year, Providence Rehabilitation served more than 86,000 adults and children.
Janet trained under and performed with a professional ballet company outside of Chicago, IL, for 13 years. She moved to Atlanta, GA, to attend Emory University for college where she completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology and also her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Janet has been an outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapist since 2006. Earlier in her career, her clinical specialty was sports PT, primarily rehabilitating dancers and athletes. Janet moved to Portland, OR, in 2015 and works at a Providence Health & Services outpatient orthopedic PT clinic in the Tanasbourne area of Hillsboro. She strongly believes in patient and continuing education, serves as a clinical instructor, and mentors colleagues who are new to the PT profession. In addition, Janet loves developing strong relationships with her patients through empathic listening and compassion. Janet’s recent focus has been studying Health At Every Size (HAES), trauma informed care (TIC), and Promoting Body Trust in her work through Be Nourished. These topics are close to her heart as she suffered from an eating disorder for over 20 years and has been in recovery since 2013. Janet is currently working with Providence to integrate PT with eating disorder recovery to help patients develop a safe relationship with movement and their bodies. She has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 10 years, and they have a two year old daughter, Ella. Janet enjoys hiking, swimming, traveling, reading, sports, and spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors.
