*Accepting New Clients*
My overall goal is to help you be authentically you, set and hold appropriate boundaries for yourself, and feel connected. I work from the belief that a fully recovered life from an eating disorder is possible for any individual through exploration, personal narratives, and strengthening a sense of worthiness. I also believe that these same ways help clients struggling with body image, anxiety, relationships, emotion regulation, and more. I value honoring each person’s journey and story. My clinical approach includes building connection, and shame resilience, to foster healing. I incorporate evidence-based practices like DBT, CBT, and Emotion Focused Therapy, while also being collaborative and client-centered.
I have utilized DBT and CBT in various settings, including eating disorder residential and PHP/IOP levels of care, as well as in school-based mental health programs. I have led DBT and CBT groups for adolescents and adults, both teaching and practicing the skills with the clients. I also bring DBT and CBT into my individual therapy sessions when applicable. I enjoy teaching and practicing these skills with clients, working to help incorporate them into daily life.
While I do not offer full-fidelity DBT, I do offer DBT and CBT skills training to clients, as well as, individual therapy from a DBT and/or CBT perspective.
Many different people can benefit from the DBT/CBT skills coaching provided, including:
Clients who have a good relationship with their primary therapist, but need extra help learning how to ask for what they want, handle daily emotions, and handle crises when they occur.
Clients who do not have enough time to practice skills during their individual sessions with myself or their primary therapist.
Clients who would like a refresher in previously learned DBT skills.
Clients who are on a waitlist for a full-fidelity DBT program, but need help now.
Again, I do not offer full-fidelity DBT or DBT Therapy, rather DBT and CBT skills coaching and practice. Along with in-session DBT/CBT skills training and practice, you will receive homework after each session. This homework is expected to be presented in the following session for further discussion.
