I view counseling as a collaborative relationship between you and me. While my expertise is in therapy techniques, you are the expert on your life story. It is my role to help you navigate your narratives, stressors and difficulties, so that you can live a more fulfilling, whole-hearted life. I’ve been trained to approach challenges with a positive mindset, and to promote personal growth & understanding within you. I am dedicated to providing clients space to explore and challenge themselves regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identification, age, class, abilities, and religion. We are all multi-dimensional individuals and each part of our identity contributes to how we see the world and how we are seen by others. I believe that we are all impacted by society’s influences, and it is my responsibility to help you navigate the systems of power and privilege inherent in our world, while advocating for your personal needs. As we work together, it is my goal to help you foster inner peace and contentment in life.
I am certified in the treatment of Eating Disorders and have been serving individuals in this field for five years. I am very passionate about helping people through the process of change that healing from an ED demands. I also am certified in the application of CPT in the treatment of PTSD, and believe that addressing & healing from our traumatic experiences helps us grow into stronger individuals. I have a certificate in Ecopsychology as well, and see nature as a powerful vehicle for growth. We benefit greatly when we expand our consciousness beyond ourselves and take pride in our living environment, and the larger world around us.
I provide individual, couple, and family counseling sessions. I am also working on introducing a number of outpatient support groups for clients, support people, and other practitioners. I am hopeful in building a greater sense of connection for not only those we serve, but also for my peers in the field as well.
