Jamie Lee
Pronouns she/her
Credentials RDN, LD
Bio I offer one-time visits and ongoing care in a supportive, weight inclusive environment to heal from diet culture, disordered eating and digestive distress. Sessions are collaborative, and encourage listening to your body wisdom, while holding space for and acknowledging body disruptors (trauma, oppression, illness). As a dietitian, I am here to help you navigate diet claims and food rules (what is true for you?), understand your own physiology (why does my body respond this way?) and develop a relationship to food and your body that aligns with your values and goals. Medical nutrition therapy is incorporated, as appropriate, to support blood sugar control, heart health, sports nutrition, digestion, including irritable bowel syndrome, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Food beliefs that cause anxiety and shame are also considered, as both can influence symptoms and well-being.

I work with children, teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, grief and loss, suicidality and self-harm. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community. Specific modalities I use with clients are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, and Family Based Treatment. I work with the client to understand which modality works best for them. My approach to therapy is joining you through a compassion focused lens. I use various modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, CPT, PE, and other Evidence-Based Practices. I take pride in the work I do, the care I give to my clients, and utilize the extensive training I have received in order to help my clients live free from whatever pain they are experiencing. Bio Finding the right support is so important to overcoming an eating disorder and unfortunately too many people are left feeling like they are a failure when they are unable to change on their own. Making the decision to seek out support can be daunting but it is an extremely important first step towards healing. The fact that you are here shows you are ready to move forward to build on the steps that you have taken so far. I work to join with clients to help them continue to move down the path of recovery. I bring over 20 years of experience specializing in the treatment of eating disorders at a partial hospital level of care to my work. I approach this with a deep knowledge base of the physical, emotional and social consequences of disordered eating which aids me in supporting clients to find lasting change. I provide a safe and supportive environment to work in collaboration with you to challenge eating disorder behavior. I strive to balance this with providing honest open reflection to help meet you where you are. I utilize the exploration of unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns meeting clients where they are at in the process of change and helping them progress.

Brave Acorn
Bio When a green shoot first comes out of an acorn, it breaks apart the acorn’s shell in the process. To the oak tree it will eventually become, this moment may be looked back on as break-through. But to the acorn itself, this first stage can only ever be experienced as breakdown. Moving from breakdown to breakthrough requires courage to sit with that fragile, newly emerging version of self until it becomes bigger and stronger than what came before. We here at Brave Acorn help people in the greater Portland area align body, mind, emotions, and intersectional identities in their daily lives. We nurture strong roots for personal growth and welcome people of all sizes, races, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We are trauma-trained, take a Health at Every Size approach to food and weight issues, and encourage people to work with their body and emotions as allies (rather than enemies) on their journey towards growth and healing.
