Bio My practice centers those who are queer or questioning, have experienced trauma (both single event and complex), eating disorders, body image disturbances, gender dysphoria, those who struggle with anxiety/depression, and those are trying to figure their new season of life. Therapy is a vulnerable process based upon your desires, therefore I strive for all therapeutic decisions to be done collaboratively, consent driven, and with anti-oppressive frameworks at the forefront. I believe that you have the answers within you, we just may need to do work to uncover them. I utilize a technical eclecticism approach when working with clients, which means I employ a variety of techniques such as DBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, and harm reduction. My counseling foundation is rooted in person centered, humanistic and feminist theories. I strive to create a collaborative and autonomous environment for my clients. Being a person who has experienced trauma, oppression, and the subsequent mental health issues that can arise from these issues can create feelings of not being safe in the world. While I acknowledge that individual therapy cannot fix systemic issues, I hope that the space we create together can create at least one pocket of safety for you.

Bio My current areas of professional growth & interest include program development, family & systems integration, and active collaboration with the greater community to ensure use of more diverse, wide-ranging interventions for healing. I am new to private practice; I am slowly building ideas for how that could look while mainly focusing on development of projects that are more group-based and community-focused in nature. I aspire to encircle myself with forward thinkers and to devote my creativity and energy to environments and communities that are bursting with new ideas, compassionate listeners, and social justice-informed advocates. I am very grateful to be a part of the CREDN community. Up to this point, I have mainly specialized in providing therapeutic support to adolescents & families (systems) seeking treatment and/or continued care for eating disorders and related conditions. More recently, I have been able to expand my experiences to include adult clients which has unlocked a passionate interest in providing services focused on life skill development, community integration and advocacy for resources and access. I have also developed a keen interest in making myself better suited to be a support to the population of gender-expansive youth and adults; I am invested in leaning more about how I can advocate for and assist this group in navigating their recovery processes and discovering and/or reclaiming their healthy, euphoric selves.

My therapy is secular and non-religious. I am dedicated to breaking down the stigma around mental health. I have developed a personal and profound appreciation for the unique qualities that each client I work with brings to their treatment and healing. I especially enjoy working with clients in cultivating body appreciation, and finding new ways to care for self on a deeper and more intimate level. We live in a society that floods us with negative messages as to how our bodies are wrong. I work with clients to decrease shame and guilt around the body, and to find safety and acceptance in taking up the personal space you have the right to comfortably occupy. I utilize the principles of Intuitive Eating and work from a Health at Every Size (HAES®) approach to provide you with support in finding peace with your body and with food. I strive to encourage you to trust your body and listen to hunger and fullness cues and assist you in rediscovering joy and satisfaction through celebrating body diversity, and rejecting diet culture, sizeism, and the "thin ideal."
