It often seems like finding a medical provider who sees beyond the surface and takes us seriously about our health concerns is nearly impossible. As a fat, queer woman, I have experienced this as a patient and do my best to see the person in front of me for who they are and address their issues to the best of my ability. We are experts in our own bodily experience, and we also need someone on the outside to support us in seeing and navigating our health challenges. I love to work with folks to find peace in their bodies and find health that is not based in unreasonable societal expectations.
