Even with challenges, stress, or trauma in our lives, we can make choices to move towards a meaningful and fulfilling life. Whether you are navigating a specific life challenge and/or hoping to thrive in your life, I will work to meet you where you are in your journey and help you move towards your values and goals.
I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, understanding that you are the expert of your life. I will compassionately support you in challenging unhelpful patterns and celebrate your wins no matter how big or small. I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, self-esteem, body image and disordered eating, and life transitions.
As a therapist, and in my life, I strongly value authenticity, humility, inclusivity, and growth. I primarily use an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens. I take a Health at Every Size approach to support the relationship you want with your body. I also integrate Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Process Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to give you the tools to move towards your goals.
I am trained as a general psychologist to work with adolescents and adults. I have a specialty in sport and performance psychology with extensive experience at NCAA D1 and D3 colleges and universities. As a former athlete and college lacrosse coach myself, I have a strong interest in working with athletes and coaches navigating the intersection of mental health and performance. I believe that we perform the best when we are happy and healthy overall, so I will work with you on whatever life may bring.
I am a Psychology Resident and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) as awarded by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). I am pursuing specialty training in eating disorders during my residency year. I practice under the supervision of Dr. Katharine Middendorf, a Licensed Psychologist, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), and International Association of Eating Disorders Professional (iaedp™).
