2026 Annual Conference: Exploring Addiction Frameworks in Eating Disorder Treatment

April 11 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
$150.00 – $175.00

We are thrilled to invite you to the 2026 CREDN Conference, Exploring Addiction Frameworks in Eating Disorder Treatment — a local gathering of providers dedicated to advancing thoughtful, evidence-based eating disorder care. Hosted by the Columbia River Eating Disorder Network (CREDN), this year’s conference examines how addiction models intersect with eating disorders and related behaviors, highlighting both the clinical utility and the limitations of addiction frameworks across treatment settings.

We are honored to welcome Lizzie E. Briasco, MSc, RD, CSSD, LDN, who will present Exercise “Addiction”: Navigating Compulsive Exercise within Eating Disorder Recovery; Abbey Roberts, MS, RD, ACSM-EP, who will present Food Addiction: A Misdiagnosis in Disguise; and Meera Beharry, MD, who will present Coming Together to Address Substance Use and Eating Disorders. Together, these presentations will explore nuanced, multidisciplinary perspectives on addiction language, assessment, and intervention in eating disorder treatment.

Through thought-provoking presentations, dialogue, and interactive learning, we’ll examine how addiction frameworks can inform — and at times complicate — our clinical understanding, while emphasizing individualized, client-centered, and context-aware care. Join us to learn, connect, and expand your clinical lens as we work toward more integrated and effective approaches to treatment and recovery. We can’t wait to see you there!

Lizzie Briasco, MSc, RD, CSSD, LDN, is a sports and eating disorder dietitian who works with people of all backgrounds to make their relationship with food, movement, and body align with who they want to be and the life they want to live. She completed her dietetic internship through the Emily Program in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2016 and subsequently worked with TEP for about a year before pursuing her Masters in sports & exercise nutrition at Loughborough University in the UK. While she was completing her thesis, she got matched to Purdue University through the Gatorade SNIP program where she functioned as a full-time sports dietitian for football, cross country, and tennis, for a year. After that program ended, she moved to NC where she worked as an IOP/OP eating disorder dietitian for 3 years before opening her own practice, Transition Nutrition.

Abbey Roberts, MS, RD, ACSM-EP is the Owner of Fork Diet Culture. You can find her dismantling diet culture on her podcasts Hangry Thoughts and The Forkcast, on social media as @fork.diet.culture, and daily with her clients. She is neurodivergent (late diagnosed ADHD) and loves her other neurodivergent clients and their cool brains! She specializes in size-inclusive nutrition therapy for disordered eating and eating disorders. Abbey is also passionate about intuitive eating, digestive issues, and sports nutrition.

Dr. Meera Beharry is board certified in General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine with over 20 years of experience caring for children and young adults. She later served as Adolescent Medicine Section Chief at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, where she expanded services for anxiety, depression, reproductive health, chronic illness, and eating disorders. She currently serves as Adolescent Medicine Advisor at Equip Health, supporting patient care and educational outreach to improve access to evidence-based eating disorder treatment.
