Melissa Lodge is a PhD candidate on the RD-pathway and a graduate research and teaching assistant in Health Sciences at the University of Rhode Island. Her research focuses on women’s health and female athlete physiology, particularly under conditions of under-fueling, such as low energy availability or Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) and its associated impact on health and performance across the lifespan. Melissa is interested in exploring intervention-based models, such as education, to improve outcomes for female athletes and girls in sports in the future.
