I believe that every person, no matter the age, has a story to tell about their lives and it takes a tremendous amount of courage to begin to share this story. As your therapist, my hope is to help you find your voice, speak your truth, begin the healing process and ultimately feel a sense of personal accomplishment along the way. I seek to provide you with clarity of thought and peace of mind and heart. I have a specific focus working with individuals (including children and adolescents/teens), couples and families on issues ranging from eating disorder/body image concerns, depression, anxiety, parenting struggles, couples/pre-marital and marriage counseling and family conflict as it relates to parent/child dynamics. My therapeutic approach is gentle and strengths based. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where we will work together to establish goals you wish to achieve. We will actively discuss how you feel about these goals and will also talk about how you know when you have reached them.

I am a non-diet, weight inclusive Registered Dietitian offering 1:1 nutrition counseling based in Portland, OR and formerly from Brooklyn, NY. I specialize in eating disorders and disordered eating, and am passionate about helping people find peace in their relationship with food and body. I counsel through the lens of intuitive eating, use evidence-based practices, and take a client-centered approach to help clients work towards recovery and food freedom. Before becoming a Registered Dietitian, I worked as a professional dancer. While this career was driven from a joy of movement and passion for the stage, it also meant growing up in a world that required perfection and unattainable body standards. This environment led me to a less than healthy and happy relationship to food and my body. My own journey of rediscovering the joy in food, eating, movement, and respect for my body has inspired me to help others along this path. I am a firm believer of thinking beyond just physical health when it comes to nutrition, and making space to experience the way food provides nourishment through joy, communal experience, exploration, comfort, honoring cultural backgrounds, and showing and receiving love. Everybody is deserving of a happy and peaceful relationship with food and their body, and I am honored to create the space to explore what that means for you.

I specialize in working with adults of all genders dealing with eating disorders and all that accompanies them: trauma, anxiety, depression, as well as spirituality and identity development. In session, we use a person-centered approach, and often incorporate principles of attachment/psychodynamic theory as well as skills and tools from CBT and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and Radically Open DBT. Sociological and multicultural perspectives can also help us understand the beliefs we hold about ourselves. Most importantly, no one understands a client better than the client themselves - I see it as my job to help you, by your side.

I am a licensed counselor. I specialize in helping clients who are struggling with disordered eating, eating disorders, over-exercising, and body image issues. All practices come from a body respect, Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size perspective. While I am not working you will find me hanging out with my husband, two young children, Lucy and Matthew, our dog Lucky and friends and family. As a former school counselor with over a decade of experience, I enjoy working with parents to help them support their children in a variety of areas. However, the primary focus of my practice involves assisting clients struggling with body insecurity, eating disorders, disordered eating, over-exercising, and trauma. My passion for helping clients deal with these types of struggles stems from the fact that I, like countless others, have struggled with food and exercise. As a result, I have both a personal and professional insight in this area

Dietitian, Life Coach
Bio
Hello! I’m a nutritionist, dietitian and life coach with a passion for helping you tap into intuition, connect to your core self, and move forward in a life grounded in your inner wisdom. I have worked as a Body Positive Nutritionist for over ten years, helping folks with disordered eating, weight concerns, diabetes, and overall well-being. I believe that every body, no matter the size, deserves to be nurtured and cared for, which is why I use a weight inclusive, body positive approach. In addition, in the past ten years, I’ve focused my continuing education on behavioral health so that I can better help folks navigate the food-mood connection. As a coach, I have a passion for helping folks identify and deepen their strengths and core values to focus on forward momentum. I have a passion for helping folks who find themselves struggling with perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking and find themselves floundering and often feel lonely in the journey with food. I’ve integrated Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT) principles throughout my work with clients. RO DBT helps those who tend toward perfectionistic thinking and black/white to improve flexibility and openness, strengthen their relationship with food and body, and build skills that cross over into other areas of life. I periodically offer Radically Open Nutrition classes. Working with Lynae will be a combination of nutrition support to help nourish your body while checking in with mental health to honor your past experiences, heal wounds that impact your current relationship with food, adapt skills to situations where mood impacts food choices. Lynae has spent the past 10 years focusing continuing education on mental health to offer mindfulness, counseling skills and offer you a toolbox that will be far more holistic than nutrition information on its own.
