Bio
As an eating disorder & sports dietitian, I am passionate about helping athletes and non-athletes alike fuel for their sport and life without losing their shit around food. My favorite part of what I do is forming connections with my clients and reminding them that food is more than fuel and that they are more than a body (and if they're an athlete, that life is more than sport). I use a trauma-informed, HAES-aligned, client-centered approach to educate and empower clients to heal their relationship with food, movement, and body so that they can live the life they want and deserve.

My career as a licensed professional counselor, Lewis & Clark adjunct faculty member, and clinical supervisor, have allowed me to help clients set achievable goals with realistic objectives. I understand the challenges of transition and the importance of navigating change while remaining true to one's personal core values . My work has centered on eating disorders, addiction, depression/anxiety and divorce/relationship recovery. By providing a safe place for healing and growth, clients will begin to understand that opposing feelings are often a normal part of the recovery process. My hope is to support you as you awaken to the miraculous.
With twenty years in the counseling field I have centered my practice on addiction, codependency, eating disorders and adjustment to transition. I utilize DBT, MI and Stages of Change in my work.
Along with my counseling degree I hold a BA in English from the University of Washington and write fiction/memoir. For clients who are interested, I encourage them to express their narratives in written form.

I offer one-time visits and ongoing care in a supportive, weight inclusive environment to heal from diet culture, disordered eating and digestive distress. Sessions are collaborative, and encourage listening to your body wisdom, while holding space for and acknowledging body disruptors (trauma, oppression, illness). As a dietitian, I am here to help you navigate diet claims and food rules (what is true for you?), understand your own physiology (why does my body respond this way?) and develop a relationship to food and your body that aligns with your values and goals.
Medical nutrition therapy is incorporated, as appropriate, to support blood sugar control, heart health, sports nutrition, digestion, including irritable bowel syndrome, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Food beliefs that cause anxiety and shame are also considered, as both can influence symptoms and well-being.
