As a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), I have dedicated my career to empowering my clients to reclaim their body autonomy by finding food freedom and making peace with their bodies. My compassionate approach is informed by the core truth that we are all born with the ability to intuitively nourish our bodies. Mixed messages around food propagated by our culture (i.e. diet culture), however, threaten to disconnect us from our body autonomy and this innate skill. Cue the self-limiting beliefs and shame and, well, you’ve got yourself a messy relationship with food! As a dietitian, I work alongside my clients to help them rediscover their ability to intuitively eat as well as work towards healing their relationship with food. Through my practical, yet empathetic approach, I can help my clients break down big, scary goals into smaller, manageable (i.e. less scary) ones. This ensures that the skills we are working on are sustainable - which is kinda the point! It is my belief that we are far more than what we eat and that everyone deserves a life free from intrusive thoughts about food.

Bio
I am a Professional Counselor Associate seeing individuals and couples ages 18 and older for a variety of presenting issues, including disordered eating, depression, anxiety, trauma, women's issues, and relationship challenges. My previous professional background as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist sparked my passion for helping clients who are experiencing disordered eating, negative body image, weight stigma, and more. I aim to provide a safe and comfortable space for all clients to explore and process their experiences. My practice is aligned with intuitive eating and Health at Every Size principles, and I take a firm non-diet stance. My treatment approach is person-centered, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, mindfulness, and somatic experiences.

Admitting that you may need help and being willing to be vulnerable is the first step to healing, I am proud of each and every person that initially walks into the therapy space. I have a strong passion for walking alongside those in reaching their goals. I have 5+ years of different forms of coaching others in aligning with their values, reaching their goals and seeing them thrive. I strongly value the individual person and their unique strength, qualities, and values that make up who they are and set them apart. I believe in empowering the person to empower themselves so that they can be confident in their directed behaviors, feelings and thoughts. I believe that each person holds an invaluable amount of worth and deserves to be seen, heard and loved. My three core values that direct every aspect of my life are: joy, strength and resilience and I am passionate about others finding their foundational values in life. With my specialization in eating disorder recovery I am passionate about walking alongside those struggling with distressing thoughts, feelings and behaviors surrounding food and themselves. I believe that no one has to be “sick enough” to seek out care for their disordered relationship with food. I recognize that Anorexia Nervosa has the highest mortality rate out of any mental illness and strive to create a comprehensive care team for each client struggling, if needed. I go off of the 5 R’s of Recovery: Rest, Refeeding, Reprogramming, Restoring and Rediscovery. I also work with those struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, building on self confidence, and defining life values. I offer and have experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based Therapy and Family Based Therapy. For those who desire, I also offer faith based therapy with an inclusion of the spiritual component of the holistic person. With providing faith based care I emphasize a psycho-social-spiritual collective of the individual and see these three aspects as a three legged stool, if one is not working the entire stool will be impacted.
