Meghan's Place: Outpatient+ Eating Disorder Therapy

Credentials LPC
Bio ACCEPTING FOR GROUPS* If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I can help! I know the isolation, denial, justifications and struggles that make recovery difficult. I aim to create a space individually and with peers where you can experiment with recovery and see if it is better than your eating disorder (it is eventually). Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so peer support and building a recovery community is a large part of my treatment model. If you are at the place where you want to try something different (I promise you won't forget how to have an eating disorder if you want to go back to it), then let's work together! I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. I hold a specialty certification in eating disorder treatment from Lewis and Clark. Additionally, I have nearly four years of experience working at the PHP and IOP level of care with individuals struggling with eating disorders. I believe in full recovery because I have seen it and am recovered myself. I am passionate about treating individuals with eating disorders. I work will work with you wherever you are at in recovery. I recognize the lies the eating disorder tells us to convince us to not seek treatment- the waning motivation, but I invite you to reach out. You already know how your eating disorder will be, so let's start (or keep doing) recovery.

I completed an internship and worked for three years in a residential and outpatient setting with adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. I have worked with patients who struggle with a variety of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, interpersonal conflict, parenting stress, grief and loss, and navigating life transitions. I see my job as a therapist as being a supporter of your work to know, grow, and use your own wisdom and strength to move toward your goals. I am also aware of how power, privilege, and oppression can affect our work together. I invite discussion around this and seek to lessen the impact of any imbalance. My goal is to empower you as the client to have choice and autonomy in our work together. My approach is a combination of multiple methods. I tend to think about cases through the lens of biopsychosocial, existential, attachment, and person-centered theories. In terms of skills, I lean toward dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). More importantly, I like to see what works for you as an individual and adjust the ideas and skills I bring into our sessions to fit your needs.

Credentials MA, LPC-OR, LMHC-WA
Bio I work with ALL people (size, gender, sex, race, ability, religion) who feel like a stranger within their own body, mind, and spirit. This may be due to loss of faith (deconstruction), identity work, existential questions, relational issues, chronic self neglect, disordered eating, trauma. Those who are hungering to be more attuned and embodied in their emotions, values, sense of worthiness but somewhere got lost along the way and are ready to find home again. My approach is collaborative, relational, trauma informed, and human. I draw on my own history/faith transition from Christianity for spiritual matters. I also draw from attachment based, IFS, mindfulness, gestalt and psychodynamic interventions. I support HAES (Health at Every Size) and I see age 18+ through mature adulthood. Each person has a story they can flourish in, no one has to merely tolerate life. My joy is to enter into and unearth that story with you. This is where renewal and transformation begins. Just as all people have the vulnerability of being deeply wounded, I believe we all have the capacity, resilience, and creativity to truly heal.
