Naturopathic Doctor
Bio
I am a naturopathic doctor specializing in the medical management of eating disorders, integrative mental health, autism/ADHD evaluations, and gender affirming hormones. I work with teens and adults to support them in their eating disorder recovery from the medical perspective, ordering labs, doing vitals, and offering prescription and natural mental health treatment options.
I take the time to truly listen to may patients, educate patients on their treatment options, and help make a decision as a team. I see the whole person and want to work with you as a whole person, not just one aspect of your health. I practice from an intuitive eating and health at every size perspective and am comfortable helping you navigate any co-occurring diagnoses such as digestive issues, PCOS, hormonal issues, thyroid disease, or mental health concerns in addition to eating disorders. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities including massage, herbs, supplements, medications, lifestyle counseling, and homeopathy to support you in your recovery and path to overall wellness.

I received a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research in 2019. After medical school, I completed one year of residency in an academic setting and two years of residency in a private practice setting in the Portland, Oregon metro area. My clinical education and residency focused on mental health and primary care with additional training in women’s health, musculoskeletal health, and other modalities unique to naturopathic medicine. I enjoy working with all patients but especially gravitate toward care for underserved and marginalized communities such as the LGBTQIA+ community, highly-sensitive and neurodiverse individuals, and people in bigger bodies. I am particularly dedicated to serving my patients in a way that is trauma-informed and considers intersectionality every step of the way, and I am always working on improving my performance in this area.

After growing up in the Midwest, I moved out to the West Coast to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University. Following graduation, I moved up to Portland, Oregon where I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. I chose Lewis and Clark not only for its verdant tree-covered campus, but because the programs and coursework emphasized building a therapeutic practice grounded in social justice and anti-oppression. Additionally, I completed the Lewis and Clark Eating Disorders Certificate Program which included numerous courses in that specialty area, covering topics such as Health at Every Size (HAES), mind-body connection, and the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders.
As part of my graduate program, I completed an internship with a local eating disorder treatment center where I had the opportunity to work with adolescent and adult clients of all genders at the Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care. Following my graduation from Lewis and Clark, I had the privilege of staying on as a Primary Therapist there before being given the opportunity to help open a new adult Residential Treatment Center (RTC).
Several theories and paradigms inform my practice, many of which you can see listed in the “Therapeutic Toolbox” section below. I allow my passion and curiosity to guide me in pursuing new trainings, community discussions, justice work, and other opportunities for personal and professional growth. Ultimately, my approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, connection, and curiosity. I also bring plenty of playfulness, humor, and authenticity into the therapeutic space and encourage clients to do the same. I hope to walk with you in your growth process and help you recognize your inherent strength, resilience, worthiness, and wisdom. Your experience is unique, and you are the expert on your life. Our work together will benefit from mutual, reciprocal openness and honest communication. Engaging in therapy is hard work, and I want to acknowledge the time, energy, and courage that it takes for you to commit yourself to this process. I look forward and am honored to work with you in your pursuit of growth, healing, and liberation.

Bio
My counseling philosophy is rooted in the idea that all humans have the ability to grow and heal. No human being is broken, and most mental health struggles stem, in part, from difficult external circumstances, like a traumatic past or a flawed culture. Through active listening, reflection, and gentle challenging, I help you become better acquainted with yourself, so that you can live in closer alignment with your values. I specialize in working with eating disorders and body image distress, but I also work with anxiety, depression, relationship and family struggles.
I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on the client, though I most often use Humanistic and Person-Centered Therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Somatic Therapy and mindfulness practices. In working with eating disorders, my perspective is informed by the “Health at Every Size” and “Intuitive Eating” movements.
