Naomi Kidder

Biographical Info
As a therapist, I specialize in eating disorder and body image work, life transitions, and couples therapy. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed; while I bring a background in mental health, I believe you are the expert on yourself. I like to bring my authentic self to sessions, which means you can expert humor, warmth and genuine passion for witnessing people’s stories. I also often incorporate narrative therapy, art therapy, psychoanalysis, parts work, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I’m curious about your family history, relationships, and what makes you feel pleasure, feel grounded and feel connected. In our sessions, I may encourage you to tune into your body and physical sensations as a way to better understand your emotions. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-compassion and a deeper connection to your embodied self.
When I’m not working, you can find me in my garden with my husband, my daughter, and our cats, cooking while listening to good music or a podcast, working on a painting, drawing, or craft, or enjoying being outside year-round (as a native Portlander, I’m no stranger to hiking in the rain!).
