Finding the right support is so important to overcoming an eating disorder and unfortunately too many people are left feeling like they are a failure when they are unable to change on their own. Making the decision to seek out support can be daunting but it is an extremely important first step towards healing. The fact that you are here shows you are ready to move forward to build on the steps that you have taken so far. I work to join with clients to help them continue to move down the path of recovery. I bring over 20 years of experience specializing in the treatment of eating disorders at a partial hospital level of care to my work. I approach this with a deep knowledge base of the physical, emotional and social consequences of disordered eating which aids me in supporting clients to find lasting change. I provide a safe and supportive environment to work in collaboration with you to challenge eating disorder behavior. I strive to balance this with providing honest open reflection to help meet you where you are. I utilize the exploration of unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns meeting clients where they are at in the process of change and helping them progress.

I work with individuals who struggle with feelings of anxiety, depression, and grief in many areas of life. Feeling overwhelmed is common in difficult times, and being misunderstood or judged by others can make things feel harder. I provide a warm and supportive environment while sharing information and skills to help you improve your relationship to yourself and others. All people need to feel like they have influence in their lives, healthy connections with others, and the ability to make effective changes when things aren't going well. Let's explore together to create goals that will develop your strengths. My specialties include helping adults 18 and over who face challenges with body image and eating concerns, traumatic experiences, and behavior patterns that may be related to physical as well as mental health. I have experience providing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety difficulties. My practice centers those who are queer or questioning, have experienced trauma (both single event and complex), eating disorders, body image disturbances, gender dysphoria, those who struggle with anxiety/depression, and those are trying to figure their new season of life. Therapy is a vulnerable process based upon your desires, therefore I strive for all therapeutic decisions to be done collaboratively, consent driven, and with anti-oppressive frameworks at the forefront. I believe that you have the answers within you, we just may need to do work to uncover them. I utilize a technical eclecticism approach when working with clients, which means I employ a variety of techniques such as DBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, and harm reduction. My counseling foundation is rooted in person centered, humanistic and feminist theories. I strive to create a collaborative and autonomous environment for my clients. Being a person who has experienced trauma, oppression, and the subsequent mental health issues that can arise from these issues can create feelings of not being safe in the world. While I acknowledge that individual therapy cannot fix systemic issues, I hope that the space we create together can create at least one pocket of safety for you.
