I provide compassionate and evidence based nutrition counseling. I am also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and weave this into the work I do. I love supporting adults who have identified that whatever they are doing isn't working anymore, and are ready to dig deep into their food and body story, in order to find relief and maybe even freedom. I also work as a clinical dietitian, and am able to support clients with other health conditions, including but not limited to digestive issues (IBD, IBS), type 1 and type 2 diabetes, etc. I provide individual nutrition counseling via telehealth, but also offer educational grocery store tours and in home cooking lessons in the greater Portland and Vancouver area. You can learn more on my website!

As a therapist, I specialize in eating disorder and body image work, life transitions, and couples therapy. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed; while I bring a background in mental health, I believe you are the expert on yourself. I like to bring my authentic self to sessions, which means you can expert humor, warmth and genuine passion for witnessing people’s stories. I also often incorporate narrative therapy, art therapy, psychoanalysis, parts work, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I’m curious about your family history, relationships, and what makes you feel pleasure, feel grounded and feel connected. In our sessions, I may encourage you to tune into your body and physical sensations as a way to better understand your emotions. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-compassion and a deeper connection to your embodied self. When I’m not working, you can find me in my garden with my husband, my daughter, and our cats, cooking while listening to good music or a podcast, working on a painting, drawing, or craft, or enjoying being outside year-round (as a native Portlander, I’m no stranger to hiking in the rain!).

I practice nutrition counseling with an anti-diet, intuitive eating, and HAES® approach. This means that I uphold the belief that food is not black and white and that people in larger bodies deserve equal treatment in society, including healthcare. Additionally, I support and align with the fat liberation movement by acknowledging the systems within our society that oppress fat individuals and by participating in dismantling these systems. I am also passionate about providing care to people of all backgrounds and identities. It is important to me to create a space that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone and every body. In working with individuals with diverse backgrounds, I feel it’s important to acknowledge the various forms of privilege I have as a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied, straight-sized person. Because of my own privilege, I realize that I do not share the lived experience of everyone I work with, which is why it is important to me to listen to your story and understand who you are as an ally in your journey and pursuit of healing. My previous work experience includes working in primary care settings where I supported individuals with various nutrition-related health concerns as well as at eating disorder treatment centers at the residential, PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), IOP (Intensive Outpatient), and outpatient levels of care. In addition to working with individual clients, I also offer supervision to dietitians looking to enhance their eating disorder recovery and anti-diet nutrition counseling skills.

ACCEPTING FOR GROUPS* If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I can help! I know the isolation, denial, justifications and struggles that make recovery difficult. I aim to create a space individually and with peers where you can experiment with recovery and see if it is better than your eating disorder (it is eventually). Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so peer support and building a recovery community is a large part of my treatment model. If you are at the place where you want to try something different (I promise you won't forget how to have an eating disorder if you want to go back to it), then let's work together! I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. I hold a specialty certification in eating disorder treatment from Lewis and Clark. Additionally, I have nearly four years of experience working at the PHP and IOP level of care with individuals struggling with eating disorders. I believe in full recovery because I have seen it and am recovered myself. I am passionate about treating individuals with eating disorders. I work will work with you wherever you are at in recovery. I recognize the lies the eating disorder tells us to convince us to not seek treatment- the waning motivation, but I invite you to reach out. You already know how your eating disorder will be, so let's start (or keep doing) recovery.
