I have specialized in treating eating disorders since 2010. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma/PTSD and work with individuals, couples, and families. I believe it is extremely important to take the whole person into account, as individuals are diverse and unique, so should be the therapeutic process. I take a nonjudgmental stance, while pulling from various treatment modalities to create a collaborative healing environment. I use various modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, CPT, PE, and other Evidence-Based Practices. I take pride in the work I do, the care I give to my clients, and utilize the extensive training I have received in order to help my clients live free from whatever pain they are experiencing. Like the meaning of the clove, I too want my clients to live with dignity, heal pain, and hold the ability to withstand the troubles they face. Please visit my website for more detailed information.

Bio
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Oregon, California, and Washington. I have a Master’s Degree in Couples and Family Therapy from University of Oregon, I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist-Consultant through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based approach to trauma. I offer clinical supervision for LPC and LMFT Associates in the state of Oregon, as well as monthly consultation for those seeking specialization through IAEDP. I started working with individuals and families in eating disorder recovery in 2012. A majority of my career has been working in higher levels of care including Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient. Most recently, I served as the Regional Director of Clinical Services at Monte Nido, where I oversaw the clinical care and operations for five programs in Oregon. Working with eating disorders led me to the field of therapy, and I am deeply committed to working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and body image issues. I believe in full recovery and understand that eating disorders, while innately harmful, often provide emotional safety and a coping mechanism through difficult life experiences. I also have expertise in working with relationship and family systems and in treating anxiety, depression, women’s issues, and trauma. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, going out to eat, reading, cooking, and watching sports: specifically the Ducks and the Blazers!

Bio
Marena highly values honoring each person’s journey and story while providing services to individuals struggling with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, trauma, new and/or stressful transitions, and adversity. She also works with clients struggling with a sense of self/identity, difficulty communicating, and lack of connection. Marena’s work stems from the belief that a fully recovered life from an eating disorder is possible for any individual through exploration, personal narratives, and strengthening a sense of worthiness and self-compassion. It is also her belief that these same ways support clients struggling with body image, anxiety, relationships, emotion regulation, and so much more. Marena’s clinical approach focuses on fostering healing through authenticity, building connection, and shame resilience; and specifically works through the feminist theory lens. Self-compassion, self-worth, radical acceptance, and mindfulness are core components to Marena’s approach, while also incorporating evidence-based practices such as DBT, CBT, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Bio
I am a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach in the Portland area who believes connection is the most significant ingredient in any relationship. Our relationship with exercises, our relationship with food, our relationship with our body - all of it is centered around connection with ourselves and others. My training methodology follows this belief - our work together is just as much around mental growth as it is physical accomplishment. We focus on what healthy means for YOU and develop a supportive road map to get you there. I've been training for about 4 years, and I've been an athlete my entire life, and have worked through my own struggles around food and body image. I aim to add to the supportive network of individuals involved in helping people re-establish a healthy relationship with food and exercise.
