I work with clients that are struggling with all types of eating disorder issues, as well as issues with self worth, body image and body dysmorphia. My framework stems from Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating and the belief that our bodies know where they should be and given the chance will guide us to our healthiest versions of ourself. I work with clients at all stages of change, whether you are contemplating seeking help or needing support to maintain your recovery. I believe that everyone is capable of repairing their relationship with their body and food and that we are all deserving of living a life free of the distress and pain that is associated with an eating disorder.

Pediatric eating disorder treatment program offering inpatient stabilization, in person PHP, in person IOP, virtual IOP and outpatient follow-up for children 6 to 18 years old. We practice in the knowledge that parents don't cause eating disorders and children don't choose to have them.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment used to treat complex, multi-diagnostic individuals with a wide range of behavioral health concerns such as eating disorders, suicidality, self-harm, substance use disorders, and difficulties in emotion regulation. Portland DBT Institute offers three levels of adherent DBT treatment: enhanced skills training (skills-only groups), standard outpatient DBT, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). The Eating Disorder IOP (ED-IOP) at Portland DBT Institute is a 16-week program specifically designed to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for individuals battling eating disorders, including anorexia, ARFID, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other disordered eating behaviors. This program is grounded in DBT, which has been proven highly effective in helping individuals develop healthier relationships with food, body image, and emotional regulation. The ED-IOP is an excellent fit for adults and young adults struggling with disordered eating behaviors who may need more support than traditional outpatient services or are transitioning to the community from a higher level of care.

So, your relationship with food has brought you here, but maybe you’re unsure if what you consider some form of overeating warrants seeking professional help. You don't have to suffer from anorexia and/or bulimia to "deserve" treatment and support. People who are enduring binge and emotional eating are often blamed (by themselves and others) for their use of food. If this is you, you may believe you have no "will power" and your relationship with food/body is your "fault". You aren't yet aware there are reasons (always other than will power) that explain your experience with food/body. You are not to blame. My mission is to help you find relief, so that food is just food again—free of stress and shame. I specialize in the treatment of binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating, emotional overeating, eating addiction, and their related struggles, such as depression. To help you become fully present, and live a life not overshadowed by worry. I believe in harnessing your critical thinking skills to help you create positive change. I'll encourage you to keep asking "why" and questioning thoughts or values to determine for yourself what‘s important (instead of defaulting to what "should" be important). This authenticity and conviction translate to all other areas of life.

I offer individual nutrition counseling for those struggling in their relationship with food. My practice is rooted in the belief that true food freedom is possible and guided by the principles of Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating. Whether exploring your relationship with food for the first time or stuck in the cycle of disordered eating, I can help. Sessions range from meal plan accountability to replacing the lies of diet culture with a value-aligned food philosophy of your own to riffing on the nostalgic power of Poptarts. Hello! I specialize in nutrition therapy for individuals affected by eating disorders or disordered eating. I work with adults, teenagers, and caregivers of young children. In 2013 I began working in the eating disorder field with employment at Carolina House’s residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) eating disorder programs. In 2017 I joined a non-diet private practice where I continue to use weight inclusive, responsive feeding, intuitive eating and trauma-informed practices. My goal is to provide highly individualized care for clients, and their loved ones, as they find a more peaceful and sustainable relationship with food.
