ACCEPTING FOR GROUPS* If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I can help! I know the isolation, denial, justifications and struggles that make recovery difficult. I aim to create a space individually and with peers where you can experiment with recovery and see if it is better than your eating disorder (it is eventually). Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so peer support and building a recovery community is a large part of my treatment model. If you are at the place where you want to try something different (I promise you won't forget how to have an eating disorder if you want to go back to it), then let's work together! I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. I hold a specialty certification in eating disorder treatment from Lewis and Clark. Additionally, I have nearly four years of experience working at the PHP and IOP level of care with individuals struggling with eating disorders. I believe in full recovery because I have seen it and am recovered myself. I am passionate about treating individuals with eating disorders. I work will work with you wherever you are at in recovery. I recognize the lies the eating disorder tells us to convince us to not seek treatment- the waning motivation, but I invite you to reach out. You already know how your eating disorder will be, so let's start (or keep doing) recovery.

As a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), I have dedicated my career to empowering my clients to reclaim their body autonomy by finding food freedom and making peace with their bodies. My compassionate approach is informed by the core truth that we are all born with the ability to intuitively nourish our bodies. Mixed messages around food propagated by our culture (i.e. diet culture), however, threaten to disconnect us from our body autonomy and this innate skill. Cue the self-limiting beliefs and shame and, well, you’ve got yourself a messy relationship with food! As a dietitian, I work alongside my clients to help them rediscover their ability to intuitively eat as well as work towards healing their relationship with food. Through my practical, yet empathetic approach, I can help my clients break down big, scary goals into smaller, manageable (i.e. less scary) ones. This ensures that the skills we are working on are sustainable - which is kinda the point! It is my belief that we are far more than what we eat and that everyone deserves a life free from intrusive thoughts about food.

My approach to therapy is rooted in curiosity, respect, and flexibility. I work with clients who are looking to heal their relationship with food and body, particularly those who have struggled with disordered eating, chronic dieting, body image distress, and perfectionism. I also frequently work with folks in the prenatal, postpartum, and early parenthood stages of life who are struggling with body changes and want to embody and model body neutrality and acceptance in their emerging family system. I practice relational and psychodynamic therapy and integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectic Behavior Therapy when indicated. My work is deeply informed by principles of Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and Body Trust®, and the underpinnings of my work lead me to dismantle sizism and fatphobia in my work with clients. I am a certified Body Trust® provider through the Center for Body Trust (formerly Be Nourished). I offer in person sessions with masks and telehealth to adults currently residing in Oregon and Washington.

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you have been in therapy before, welcome. You are right where you need to be and I am so glad that you are taking the brave step in reaching out. I work with children, teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, grief and loss, suicidality and self-harm. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community. My specialty is working with eating disorders, body image distress, and those coping with acute or chronic health conditions. When working with children, teens, and families with history of eating disorders and body image distress, I utilize a Health at Every Size Approach (HAES) in my work. Specific modalities I use with clients are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Family Based Treatment. I work with the client to understand which modality works best for them. My approach to therapy is joining you through a compassion focused lens. When working together, I will help you understand how your behaviors may have protected you in the past. Together, we can work to let go of harmful behaviors and integrate more adaptive coping mechanisms into your daily life. We will work together to integrate the parts of you that can get you to feeling like your more authentic self.
