I provide a collaborative and holistic mind-body approach to psychotherapy. I believe that every individual has an innate capacity to heal and deepen their connection to self/others. I offer practical tools to help you achieve a greater sense of growth and well-being and find relief from the unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck. It is my goal to create a safe and compassionate environment in which your unique strengths and resources can be accessed, and the negative experiences from the past that continue to affect the present can be uncovered and resolved. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who experience relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Within these modalities, I integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, EMDR, attachment theory, and behavioral approaches to provide the most comprehensive and holistic care. It is my joy and honor to accompany you during this part of your journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Long-time fat activist and eating disorders specialist, and one of the founders of the Health at Every Size framework of care, I work with people who are exposed to the harmful ranking of bodies and worth. I am licensed in California and Washington and do telehealth with people who are seeking more connection with their own wisdom and the wisdom of their chosen communities as we navigate this wild ride. I also do consultation with other clinicians, researchers, activists, authors and journalists who are also trying to thoughtfully chart a path. I do not accept insurance (or communicate with insurers) but provide monthly superbills for those who might get reimbursed.

Bio
Paige is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and received her degree in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University in 2015. She relocated to Portland after graduating college and has lived in the lush PNW ever since. Paige enjoys working with clients to improve their relationships with food, their bodies, and their self-care routines. She practices from an anti-diet, Health At Every Size perspective, and heavily emphasizes principles of Intuitive Eating, self-compassion, and somatics in her work. She’s passionate about providing individualized nutrition care that considers the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. . As well as working as a dietitian, Paige is a part-time ceramic artist. Due to the part-time nature of her nutrition work, she is no longer taking on highly acute eating disorder clients, but can see clients who are medically stable with disordered eating and/or weight and body image struggles. She also enjoys working with people with ADHD since she has personal experience with this temperament herself. . Paige is a major proponent of the healing capacity of art, and finds that The Artist’s Way approach goes along nicely with Intuitive Eating principles in healing clients’ relationships with food, their bodies, and themselves. She regularly includes this philosophy in her work. . When she is not working with clients or sculpting clay, Paige enjoys gardening, eating (and sometimes preparing) tasty food, nature walks, biking around town, singing poorly, and spending time with friends.

As a therapist, I hold a safe and compassionate space for each client, so that they feel held and supported in a way that allows them to create their own profound transformation. I utilize the teachings of author and scholar Dr Brene´ Brown, as the foundation for my work, and also use the powerful modality of Neuro Linguistic Programing, to help women release from the old programs of shame and negative thinking. Simultaneously, I empower each woman to creatively build a thriving foundation based on authenticity, courage and resiliency; everything that they will need to live a bold and fulfilling life.

I offer one-time visits and ongoing care in a supportive, weight inclusive environment to heal from diet culture, disordered eating and digestive distress. Sessions are collaborative, and encourage listening to your body wisdom, while holding space for and acknowledging body disruptors (trauma, oppression, illness). As a dietitian, I am here to help you navigate diet claims and food rules (what is true for you?), understand your own physiology (why does my body respond this way?) and develop a relationship to food and your body that aligns with your values and goals. Medical nutrition therapy is incorporated, as appropriate, to support blood sugar control, heart health, sports nutrition, digestion, including irritable bowel syndrome, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Food beliefs that cause anxiety and shame are also considered, as both can influence symptoms and well-being.
